Editorial Guidelines
Help us maintain the highest standards of quality in the digital marketing space. Please review our core publishing requirements before submitting your draft.
1. Original Content
Submissions should be original and should not have been copied from another website.
Please tell us if substantially the same article has previously been published elsewhere.
Plagiarised, automatically spun or lightly rewritten content will not be accepted.
2. Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI)
We recognise that AI tools are increasingly part of modern marketing and content workflows.
Contributors may use AI tools to support research, planning, editing or content development.
However, we do not want generic AI-generated articles submitted simply for publication or link-building purposes.
A submission should contain meaningful human expertise, judgement, original research, first-hand experience or another clear reason for readers to value it.
If generative AI has been used extensively to produce a submission, please disclose this when submitting the article.
3. Article Length and Structure
There is no rigid word count because an article should be as long as necessary to explain its subject properly.
As a general guide, substantial articles will often fall between 800 and 2,000 words.
Articles should normally include:
A clear title
A concise introduction
Logical headings and subheadings
Short, readable paragraphs
Evidence or examples where appropriate
A clear conclusion or practical takeaway
Screenshots, charts, photographs and original data are encouraged where they genuinely help explain the subject.
4. Links and Backlinks
Digital Marketing Blog is not a backlink marketplace.
Submitting an article does not guarantee that a link to your business, website or client will be published.
Relevant links may be included when they:
Support a factual statement
Reference original research or data
Provide genuinely useful additional information
Identify an appropriate author, organisation or source
We reserve the right to edit, add, remove or apply appropriate attributes to external links.
Overly promotional, irrelevant or manipulative links will be removed.
Editorial & Submission Guidelines
Please review our publishing standards thoroughly before submitting your draft. We hold our contributions to the highest industry standards of transparency, accuracy, and reader value.
1. Promotional Content
Articles should primarily educate or inform rather than advertise.
A genuine expert contribution from a company is welcome. An 1,000-word advertisement disguised as an educational article isn’t.
References to a contributor’s company, software or service may be appropriate where genuinely relevant to the subject, but publication remains at our editorial discretion.
Businesses interested specifically in commercial collaborations should contact us separately rather than disguising promotional content as an independent contribution.
2. Sponsored Contributions
Digital Marketing Blog may consider selected sponsored editorial opportunities.
Payment does not guarantee unrestricted publication, positive coverage, specific claims or editorial approval.
Any sponsored relationship will be handled separately from ordinary editorial contributions and appropriately disclosed where required.
3. Evidence and Claims
If your article contains statistics, research findings or significant factual claims, please provide the original source wherever possible.
If you’re presenting your own research or client results, explain enough about the methodology and context for readers to understand what the figures represent.
Marketing results should not be presented in a misleading way.
For example, a dramatic percentage increase without explaining the starting point, period measured or relevant context may be edited or rejected.
4. Images and Copyright
Only submit images, screenshots, charts or other media that you created, have permission to use, or are otherwise legally entitled to provide for publication.
Please identify the source of third-party data, graphics or research.
Digital Marketing Blog reserves the right to replace submitted imagery to maintain consistency across the publication.
5. Editing & Modifications
All accepted submissions may be edited before publication.
Editing may include changes to:
Headlines
Formatting
Grammar and spelling
Structure
Clarity
Internal links
External links
Introductions and conclusions
SEO elements
Where substantial changes affect the contributor’s argument or professional opinion, we may seek approval before publication.
6. Author Attribution
Where appropriate, accepted contributors may receive an author attribution or biography explaining their relevant experience.
Contributor profiles should be factual and proportionate rather than primarily promotional.
7. Publication Is Not Guaranteed
Submitting an article, idea or draft does not guarantee publication.
We may decline content because it does not meet our editorial standards, substantially duplicates existing coverage, falls outside our subject areas or simply isn’t right for the publication at that time.
We may also suggest a different angle if we believe an idea has potential.
